Home Security FAQs

Have any Question?

In this page, we provide answers to some of the most frequently asked questions we encounter regarding home security and the services provided by Guardian Force Security.

1. How many cases of burglary are reported in the U.S. every year?

Property theft is a big thing in the United States. Based on data from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, over 2.1 million cases of burglary incidents were reported in 2012. Another 6.15 million were cases of larceny, 721,000 were motor vehicle theft cases, and 45,900 were arson cases. $4.7 billion were lost due to burglary alone, while a total of $15.5 billion were lost because of all property crimes.

2. How many fire incidents are reported in the U.S. every year?

The National Fire Protection Association noted that 1.24 million fire incidents occurred in the United States in 2013. These fire incidents caused more than 3,200 civilian deaths, 15,900 civilian injuries, and $11.5 billion in property damage.

3. Can home security systems prevent burglary?

Yes. The Department of Justice conducted a survey in 1999, which showed that 9 out 10 convicted burglars agreed they would rather not break into a house that is protected by an alarm system.

4. How can I have Guardian Force Security install a home security system in my home?

You may call our office in Nederland, Texas, at (409) 722-3700 or Lufkin, Texas, at (936) 637-3377) to get in touch with a home security professional who can guide you through the process of ordering, installing, and activating a system that is appropriate for your lifestyle, budget and security requirements. You may also send us an email at sales@guardianforcesecurity.com or contact us.

5. What brands of alarm systems are available from Guardian Force Security

Alarm systems come in many different brands. Guardian Force Security is an authorized dealer of Bosch Security Systems, but our expert technicians can install, maintain, and repair technological security solutions from various other industry leaders like, Radionics, Detection Systems, Napco, DSC, DMP, Ademco, and many more.

6. What kind of alarm system should I get? What features should I look for?

For most homeowners, a security system with basic features like surveillance cameras, door and window alarms, motion detectors, fire and smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors, sirens, and a control panel already works as a good deterrent against intruders, in addition to protecting against fire and carbon monoxide poisoning. Other systems, however, incorporate other features, including heat detectors, flood detectors, temperature sensors and control systems, water leak sensors, automated light systems, shock sensors, and medical alarm systems to provide greater protection for homes.

7. Do you also provide monitored security systems?

Yes. At Guardian Force Security, we also provide monitored security systems for customers who want the local police, fire department, or medical emergency services to be alerted when needed.

8. What happens if my home experiences power interruption? Will my security system continue working?

Yes! All of our home security products are supported by battery power, so you can expect your system to continue working even when your home loses power. Please make sure that your system receives regular maintenance service to ensure that back-up energy will work in the case of a power interruption or failure.

9. What happens in case of a false alarm?

In the event that a monitored alarm system is activated, our personnel at our central monitoring station will call you immediately to double check if everything is alright. If a false alarm has been confirmed, notification of the police, fire department, or medical services will be cancelled.
